Anticipated $2.4 billion decline in Mass. tax revenue will result in thousands of job loses, cuts in services, lawmakers warn

Michael J. Widmer, president of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, said the state could need to spend up to $800 million from what's left in the rainy day fund this fiscal year, leaving it with only $500 million going into the next fiscal year.
